The
Zen Bei Butoku-Kai International Crest is worn as a symbol of
respect towards Master Richard
Kim and his teachings. The crest’s shape and colors
are those that Master Richard
Kim wore with pride for decades. The traditional border of
the crest surrounds the Japanese characters that read “Zen
Bei”. “Zen Bei” is what Master Richard
Kim called his organization when he moved to America in 1959.
Therefore, all members wear those characters in remembrance of
Master Kim reaching out to everyone, as “Zen Bei”
means “all people”. To this day, the lessons that
he left behind still reach out to everyone in the organization,
thanks to his senior students and their dedication to excellence. |
