Sensei Ron McFadyen started
training with Sensei Bob Toth at St. Catharines Martial
Arts in 1988. With continued training under the direction
of O’Sensei Richard Kim and his senior students, he
received Nidan with Z.B.B.K. in 1996. In 1997 Ron moved
to the Turks and Caicos Islands in the Caribbean and established
Provo Martial Arts. Fortunately, Ron’s work allowed
him to travel back to Canada regularly, facilitating continued
training in St. Catharines while developing Provo.
Ron returned to Canada in
2002, resuming full time training with Sensei Toth, and
now travels regularly to the Turks and Caicos, maintaining
the dojo with the capable assistance of two resident shodan.
In October, 2007 Ron received his Sandan from the Z.B.B.K.
International. The karate-ka in Provo are transient, coming
and going with the demands of their work, but the spirit
of training exhibited and taught by O’Sensei Kim and
his students who follow his way is alive and well in the
Turks and Caicos Islands.
